The Waters of Elizabethtown
Elizabethtown is home to five creeks — Billy Creek, Valley Creek, Shaw Creek, Buffalo Creek, and Freeman Creek — and five lakes: Freeman Lake, Routt Lake, Buffalo Lake, Trooper Lake, and Valley Creek Lake. These waterways support recreation, wildlife habitat, stormwater management, and water quality protection throughout our community. All of our waters ultimately flow downstream into the Nolin and Green Rivers, making their protection a shared responsibility. What enters our storm drains flows directly into these creeks and lakes — help us keep them clean and healthy for future generations.
